In January 2006, I joined a gym at 274 pounds with the goal of making exercise a lifetime habit. In January 2007, 15 pounds lighter, I decided to work at improving my eating habits and losing more weight. In June 2007, I was a total of 90 pounds lighter. When my personal trainer suggested that I become a trainer, I laughed at him. But the seed was planted.
I have been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) since April 2009. My additional certifications include NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CEx), Senior Specialist and Women’s Fitness Specialist.
I have trained 14 year olds to 70 year olds. I have experienced knee and back issues and have trained many clients with injury issues successfully without further injury.
There is a saying that I live by “You never fail until you stop trying.” What I have learned is that as someone who has turned to food as a stress reliever throughout her life, there are times when the old eating habits creep back. But that is not what defines me, what does is that I continue to work to improve.
I will never stop working to achieve and maintain my goals. Neither should you, so let’s get started!
